Former The Office star John Krasinski surprised a lot of people – us included – with A Quiet Place, his terrific new horror film that cost $17 million to make but has already grossed $85 million worldwide. We expect Paramount to green light a sequel any day now, but Krasinski isn’t interested in waiting around. He’s already signed on for his next directing gig, a sci-fi film called Life on Mars that will reunite him with the producers of A Quiet Place. Read more about Life on Mars below. Read More »
One last TV story, and we’ll return to the regularly scheduled film news programing. ABC has ordered 13 episodes of Life on Mars, an American remake of the popular BBC television series. The story follows a 21st century detective Sam Tyler (Jason O’Mara) who who finds himself waking up in 1972 after he’s run over by a car. The U.S. version of the show was created by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Legal). I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about the original series, and am always interested in anything Time Travel related, although the soundtrack seems just a little bit cheesy. Check out the trailer below and tell me what you think in the comments.
