A wise man once said: “If one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects, not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the Jedi.” If you want to fully understand the epic and intricate Star Wars saga, you must embrace a larger view of the Force and you can start by embracing DK’s new sacred text, The Star Wars Book: Expand Your Knowledge of a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Written by Star Wars experts Pablo Hidalgo, Cole Horton, and Dan Zehr, this insightful examination of the ever-expanding Star Wars franchise covers 11 live-action movies, four TV shows comprising 15 seasons (and counting), video games, comics, novels, theme park experiences, and more.

Stuffed with illuminating infographics and authoritative essays, The Star Wars Book reveals the mysteries of the Star Wars galaxy — not just the characters, history, and technology of Star Wars, but how it all connects together, from 4-LOM and A-Wings to Ziro the Hutt and Zuckuss. While not technically an encyclopedia or visual dictionary, the book is divided into key subject areas for easy reading— the galaxy, science and technology, the Force, the Skywalkers, galactic governments, their dissidents, and galactic denizens.

Whether you are a devoted Star Wars fan or a casual reader curious to learn more, The Star Wars Book is an invaluable roadmap to that galaxy far, far away. Below is a sampling of some of the tome’s most interesting tidbits, including new information on the events of The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian.

star wars the rise of skywalker kylo ren plot holes

Even three months after its release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker refuses to leave the national conversation. Perhaps that’s because so much supplementary material keeps coming out after the fact to fill out the plot gaps in the film’s ever-so-complex narrative. The latest from the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker novelization is all about Kylo Ren and his arc form Big Bad to big softie, and how exactly it happened.

kylo ren redemption

Kylo Ren is one of the most interesting villains in the Star Wars franchise. Adam Driver‘s character was introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as a conflicted antagonist torn between his birth family and his chosen identity as commander of the First Order, a master of the Knights of Ren, and protege of the Supreme Leader Snoke. He was a character deeply embedded in the Dark Side of the Force, and yet, Driver’s ungainly performance and his shifting emotions made him a character that earned our sympathy, whether we liked it or not. But does a little sympathy mean that Kylo Ren is deserving of redemption in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? Not according to Driver.

Reylo

Rey and Kylo Ren are on opposite sides of the Force, but you know what they say: opposites attract, and there has been so much blazing chemistry between those two characters (ramped up considerably in Star Wars: The Last Jedi) that fans have dubbed the pair “Reylo.” But unfortunately for the Reylo shippers out there (including Kelly Marie Tran, who plays Rose Tico and appears to be slightly obsessed with that fictional pair), it seems like Daisy Ridley isn’t on board with that relationship. Read her comments below. Read More »

Star Wars secret

Adam Driver has been keeping a Star Wars secret for several years, and it’s not something mundane like Kylo Ren getting his helmet back in Star Wars: Episode 9. In a new interview, Driver says he’s known for a long time “where it was all going,” so read on as we narrow down the possibilities of what he’s talking about. Read More »

ralph breaks the internet kylo ren

In a movie where Disney princesses lounge about in casual wear and the internet becomes a literal playground for everything from fictional characters to viruses, it seems like Ralph Breaks the Internet has free reign to make a joke of anything.

Except for Kylo Ren, apparently.

snoke apprentices

Update: A very interesting line from another Star Wars book has added another twist to this story. We’ve added the details to the post below.

Another twist has been thrown into the Star Wars canon, but not by Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s doing. The latest Star Wars film has made a huge impact on the galaxy far, far away that will echo in the movies to come, but ironically, one of the biggest bombshells was just revealed outside of the film itself.

Star Wars Insider Magazine’s special souvenir Star Wars: The Last Jedi issue revealed that Kylo Ren is not the only one of his kind. The official Lucasfilm publication revealed that Supreme Leader Snoke has trained “at least one other apprentice” apart from Kylo. What does the possibility of another Snoke apprentice mean for Star Wars Episode 9? Let’s theorize.

Warning: Major spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi follow.

Can you imagine Star Wars: The Last Jedi being any different? Actually tons of people can, but the real question here is, can you imagine it looking any different? Kylo Ren ship

Adam Driver‘s petulant Star Wars villain Kylo Ren spent a good portion of The Force Awakens pacing around on a Star Destroyer or traveling to planet surfaces in his shuttle, but Darth Vader’s grandson is getting a sleek new ride in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and you can see the first photos of it below.

Plus, writer/director Rian Johnson compares his movie’s tone to other films in the Star Wars saga, and it turns out this movie may be less indebted to The Empire Strikes Back than many might have thought.
