Remember when the Ghostbusters remake hit theaters in 2016, and everyone acted calm and rational about it? Just kidding – the internet was furious, particularly fanboys who were outraged that someone would dare reboot Ghostbusters with ladies. Now, a year later, Ghostbusters reboot director Paul Feig is opening up about the box office disappointment of the film, which was originally supposed to launch a whole new franchise.

All aboard the Magic School Bus! The enchanted vehicle pulls up for a second go-around with a frizzy-haired teacher behind the wheel in the Netflix reboot-sequel of the beloved PBS animated series. In The Magic School Bus Rides Again, the teacher is a little less frizzy-haired, though she’s still a Frizzle.
That’s right, that’s Kate McKinnon as Ms. Frizzle’s younger sister with better hair, Ms. Fiona Felicity Frizzle, taking the keys from Lilly Tomlin‘s legendary teacher as the older Frizzle goes off to…save the world, I guess? But the most important thing about The Magic School Bus Rides Again trailer is that Netflix has recruited Lin-Manuel Miranda to sing the updated theme song. Yep, that definitely made our day complete.

John Cena is quite an imposing guy with a bulky body that would intimidate anyone. So it makes sense for 20th Century Fox to have him voice a big bull named Ferdinand. What’s surprising is that bull is decidedly different from Cena’s wrestling alter ego.
Ferdinand tells the story of a kind-hearted bull raised by a Mexican family who has a heart of gold, loves watching TV, walks carefully through a china ship, and doesn’t want to hurt a thing. That doesn’t bode well for the bull when he’s ripped from his home and forced into a bullfighting ring, refusing to charge at the red cape being swung around by the matador.

Next month, Cars 3 will likely dominate the box office when it arrives on June 16. But for those who aren’t interested in the extremely troubling and perplexing world of anthropomorphic animated automobiles, there will be counter-programming arriving in theaters that same weekend on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.
Rough Night is bringing some raunchy comedy to the table this summer as we follow five college friends (Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Zoë Kravitz) getting back together for a bachelorette party. Of course, things get pretty crazy when these longtime friends do some cocaine and accidentally kill a male stripper. You know, just another girls night out.

An animated film about a physically imposing character who’s more than a muscle-bound idiot, with a message about not judging others based solely on their looks? That’s about as subtle as a bull in a chi…well, you know the rest. But animated movies provide teachable moments for young audiences, and even though we’re all familiar with these tropes, there’s always a new generation who’ll be learning them for the first time.
Enter Ferdinand, the latest animated effort from Blue Sky Studios. 20th Century Fox has released the first trailer, and if nothing else, it features an impressive voice cast. Watch the full Ferdinand trailer below. Read More »
Saturday Night Live is one of the most unique shows on television because of the fact that every new episode is created in a single week and performed live with just minutes between commercial breaks for new sketches to be set up. It’s always impressive what SNL is able to pull off live on the air.
For those who have wondered just how SNL is able to pull off some of the more technically impressive aspects of the show, some video featurettes have given us a glimpse behind the scenes of Studio 8H when the live show is going on. We’ve seen how quickly a set can be torn down from the cold open to the monologue, and now you can see what a fast-paced make-up transformation is like when Kate McKinnon has to go from playing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to Shud the Mermaid.

For cast members of Saturday Night Live, the summer between seasons is when they take the time to make the movies that they don’t have time to shoot during regular TV season. One of the most in-demand cast members on the comedy scene right now is Kate McKinnon, and we have word on at least one project that will keep her busy while SNL is on hiatus for a few months this summer.
Kate McKinnon, seen last year in Ghostbusters, Office Christmas Party and Masterminds, will star with Mila Kunis in an action comedy called The Spy Who Dumped Me. You can probably guess the gist of the story from the title, but we’ll explain what it’s about below. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
It’s not often that a group of ladies get to have a raucous, irresponsible adventure in the vein of The Hangover, but with the success of movies like Bad Moms, women have been really cutting loose on the big screen. Rough Night is the next step in evening out the playing field of R-rated comedy.
Rough Night (formerly titled Rock That Body) follows Scarlett Johansson as the bride-to-be who is heading down to Miami to cut loose with her old college girlfriends (Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, Zoe Kravitz and Kate McKinnon) for a big bachelorette party. It’s exactly the kind of ladies night shenanigans you’d expect with dick-shaped things and some cocaine usage, but things take a dark turn when something goes wrong with the male stripper the women ordered.
