There are many, many reasons to look forward to John Wick: Chapter 2, but one is the fact that it’ll be a The Matrix reunion in miniature. As we reported last year, Laurence Fishburne has joined Keanu Reeves in the action sequel — which is being directed by Chad Stahelski, a stuntman and stunt coordinator on the Matrix trilogy. The earlier trailers have already given us a peek at Fishburne’s character, the Bowery King. Now today, a new image shows the former Neo and the former Morpheus together again. Read More »

John Wick: Chapter 2 brings Keanu Reeves back for more deadly assassin action, but this time around he’ll find himself facing whole new dangers in whole new settings. A couple of new John Wick: Chapter 2 photos reveal just what that might look like.
In one, Reeves’ John Wick makes his way down a crowded city street in a sharp suit that’s looking a little less sharp after a long day of, presumably, beating people up. The other spotlights the new villains played by Riccardo Scamarcio and Ruby Rose, also sporting killer suits. Say what you will about the morality of murdering people for a living, but these characters all look damn good doing it. Check ’em out below. Read More »

The John Wick: Chapter 2 trailer released earlier this month promised more of everything we loved about the first John Wick: intense action, stylish visuals, and Keanu Reeves being an all-around badass. But that doesn’t mean we should just expect a retread of the last film, stresses Chad Stahelski. The director suggests he’s taken a page out of the Aliens playbook by going in a different direction with the sequel. Read More »

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Aside from the fact that John Wick was one of the best action thrillers we’ve seen in awhile, one of the reasons everyone fell in love with the movie was the adorable puppy that the titular assassin had. But audiences were heartbroken to learn that the dog actually ends up being one of the catalysts to John Wick coming back to action because some assholes kill that cute little puppy.
Thankfully, John Wick got a new dog at the end of the first movie, and as a new John Wick 2 photo shows us, no one has killed that dog yet. The first official photo from John Wick 2 has just surfaced, and it features the hitman and his trusty canine taking a walk. I swear on everything that is holy, if someone kills that dog, there will be hell to pay. Read More »

Here’s my John Wick story. I attended an early morning Fantastic Fest press screening of Chad Stahelski and David Leitch convinced that I was about to watch a B-movie that was one hair away from going straight to DVD. When the credits rolled, I was fairly sure that I had just watched one of the best action movies in years and the rare movie to fully understand how to fully utilize the very specific weapon that is Keanu Reeves. Embargoed, I spent the rest of the day waiting for the film to premiere before an audience of real people, concerned that I was too tired to know what I was watching and that I was wrong about John Wick. Two years later, I’ve watched it at least a dozen times. It’s near-perfect cinematic comfort food.
And oh yeah, a new poster for John Wick: Chapter 2 has arrived, and I’m not even going to try to contain my excitement for what is easily one of my most anticipated movies of 2017.
