The first brief teaser has arrived to announce the film’s arrival on Netflix in November, and the first synopsis fills us in on what holiday action is coming to the North Pole this time. Read More »

So far, Jonathan Levine has directed a coming-of-age movie, a zombie romance, a horror movie, a buddies night out film, a heartbreaking comedy, and now, an action-comedy starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn. With five features under his belt, the Snatched director has shown an interest and skill in making a variety of movies.
His newest film, which is written by Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters), is his biggest movie to date. Five features into his career and his priciest movie yet isn’t a comic book movie or a sequel – it’s an Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn comedy. Levine has stuck to telling mostly original and heartfelt stories. The director told us about how his previous work, including his last comedy, informed Snatched.

The world of comedy has changed vastly since Goldie Hawn’s last big-screen appearance in The Banger Sisters in 2002. Largely, comedy has progressed in the last 15 years, but Hawn’s return is not the banner occasion she deserves. Snatched, in which she plays the neurotic mother of a selfish wild child played by Amy Schumer, is mostly lazy and turgid. There are laughs stranded throughout, amidst a vast ocean of squandered potential.

Summer movie season is right around the corner. It unofficially begins in April with The Fate of the Furious, but really swings into gear at the beginning of May with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While summer is a place for big screen spectacle, there will be some blockbuster comedies hoping to make a dent as well, and the first one comes from Amy Schumer.
Snatched sees the Trainwreck star teamed up with Goldie Hawn on a little mother-daughter excursion to a nice exotic locale. Even though they’re not exactly getting along or bonding, they’re soon forced to spend even more time with each other as they end up kidnapped by some dangerous locals, leaving them to rely on each other to escape and survive. It’s funnier than it sounds, and a new clip shows the amusing dynamic between Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn.

You might think that nothing could be more awkward and annoying than going on a vacation with your mom that you’d originally intended to take with your boyfriend. Turns out all that peril provides the perfect opportunity for some serious mother-daughter bonding. Watch the Snatched trailer below. Read More »

For the first time since 2002, Goldie Hawn is returning to the big screen. 20th Century Fox has just released the first trailers for Snatched, which stars her and Amy Schumer as a mother and daughter who go on vacation to “South America” (I don’t think anyone in the trailers ever gets more specific than that), only to get kidnapped. But don’t worry — it’s a comedy, so everyone’s probably going to turn out fine.
Snatched has a lot of interesting talent behind the camera as well, including director Jonathan Levine (50/50) and screenwriter Katie Dippold (The Heat). Watch two Snatched trailers — one red-band, one green-band — after the jump. Read More »
Not too long ago, we heard about First Wives Club stars Bette Midler, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn reuniting for a comedy at Netflix called Divanation about three former members of a popular singing group who are forced to reunite after being apart for 30 years. News has surfaced that Goldie Hawn is in early talks to play Amy Schumer‘s mother in the untitled comedy from Warm Bodies and 50/50 director Jonathan Levine that we first heard about last August. Find out more about this Goldie Hawn Amy Schumer team-up after the jump. Read More »
