The second season finale of Narcos told viewers what season three was going to be about. Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) was recruited to pursue the Cali Cartel. Narcos season 3 picks up the Cali Cartel story, who celebrated the demise of their rival (and seasons 1 and 2 lead) Escobar.
Narcos show runner Eric Newman spoke with /Film by phone about the show’s third season. Newman is also producer of the upcoming Netflix original movie Bright starring Will Smith and directed by David Ayer. He’s also attached to some high profile movies with directors Jon Favreau and Matt Reeves.

Netflix releaseed Narcos Season 2 on Friday and if you’re like me you’ve binge-watched most of it over the holiday weekend. The streaming service isn’t going to wait a month to announce that the show will continue like they did with Stranger Things. Netflix presented a panel on Narcos, their historical drama about Pablo Escobar, with Eric Newman representing the producers of the show. He and José Padilha remain from season one, with new producers joining the production. Prior to the panel, Newman spoke with reporters in a roundtable about the second season of the show, currently in production. He confirmed some key details about the plot of season two, and speculated on the possibilities for season three. Gavin Polone has an extensive resume as a producer. He’s been involved in a wide array of film and television, from Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Gilmore Girls to Panic Room, 8MM, Zombieland and the upcoming Premium Rush.
Now he’s poised to take the director’s chair for the first time. The film will be a thriller called Psycho Killer (I just heard David Byrne’s attorney start to salivate) with Seven screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker and The Last Exorcism producers Eli Roth and Eric Newman. Read More »
