English composer Daniel Pemberton is as wildly diverse and entertaining as Harley Quinn herself. He is a multi Golden Globe, Emmy and Bafta Award-nominated composer who has worked with some of the most renowned names in the industry such as Darren Aronofsky (One Strange Rock), Ridley Scott (All The Money in The World, The Counsellor), Guy Ritchie (The Man From UNCLE, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), and Danny Boyle (Yesterday, Steve Jobs). Pemberton received critical acclaim for his score on Oscar-winning film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and is now back in the comic world with his latest score for Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey.

We can’t say enough good things about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The film ranked highly on the /Film team’s cumulative Best Movies of 2018, and we’re rooting for the movie to take home the Oscar for Best Animated Film next month. But we wish the film also earned another nomination too.
Composer Daniel Pemberton‘s work on the film’s pulsing, contemporary score is incredible. Listening to the score will fill you with such energy, and it easily allows you to recall the most memorable moments in the movie. However, since Oscar gold isn’t in the cards for Pemberton, we’re willing to take the consolation prize of the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse score getting a vinyl release in March. Read More »

George Miller‘s Mad Max: Fury Road will get some synthetic beats courtesy of Junkie XL. The Dutch composer and producer (real name Tom Holkenborg) will score the long-gestating sequel, as reported by Manly Movie after the artist teased the news on Twitter.
Holkenborg composed the scores for this summer’s Paranoia, and the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire. Additionally, he has worked on the soundtracks for Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises, and all three Madagascar movies. Mad Max: Fury Road lands in theaters next year. [via The Playlist]
