Hero Complex Gallery has reopened in an all-new location at 1050 S. Fairfax in Los Angeles, and they opened up their new space with Blacklight 3, the third show in a series featuring vibrant, electric artwork created with fluorescent ink that really shines when put under a blacklight. New entries in the series include pieces paying tribute to Blade Runner, IT, Beetlejuice, Skyfall, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Shape of Water, 2001: A Space Odyssey, John Wick, and many more. Gallery 1988 debuted a new art show over the weekend featuring works from Jeff Boyes and Dan Mumford, each of them honoring some beloved films from decades past. Jeff Boyes focuses on films like Wayne’s World, Gleaming the Cube, and Dumb & Dumber. Meanwhile, Dan Mumford tackled the likes of The Crow, Terminator and First Blood. But both of them did their own tribute to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

Now that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available for us all to enjoy over and over again at home, the movie is ripe for artwork tributes. Since artist Dan Mumford delivered a fantastic set of prints commemorating Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we’re glad to see he’s back with another set of prints for Rian Johnson’s chapter in the Star Wars saga. It may not be as long-lived as The Simpsons or South Park or Family Guy, but Futurama will forever and always have a special place in our hearts. Matt Groening‘s animated sci-fi sitcom was as lovably oddball as its characters — the kind of show that can laugh at the end of the universe, wring heartfelt romance out of a Magic School Bus-esque adventure, and rib Star Trek and its fans with the affection of a fellow fan.
