Mere days after brand new concept art emerged for several of Pixar’s upcoming films, the same has happened for one of its abandonded projects. Newt, which was to be directed by Gary Rydstrom, was about how the last two newt salamanders on Earth hated each other and were forced to fall in love. The company canceled the project back in 2010 (maybe cause it had the same plot as 2011’s Rio?) but there was still a ton of work done on it. We’ve posted some concept art from the project in the past, but a huge new batch of images have just come online by illustator Katy Wu. As you can tell above, they’re exceedingly gorgeous.
