The Kominsky Method Trailer

When most people hit that age where they can easily be called elderly, they usually get their comedy from CBS. But Netflix is looking to grab the attention of those older folks who are technologically savvy enough to use the streaming service with a new comedy series from Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory producer Chuck Lorre.

The Kominsky Method is a new comedy series starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin as two longtime best friends dealing with their increasingly unreliable bodies and all the other trials and tribulations of getting older in a city like Los Angeles. Disjointed teaser

To celebrate 4/20, Netflix announced the premiere date of Disjointed, a “half-baked” drama starring Kathy Bates as the proud owner of a cannabis dispensary. Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory) and the former head writer of The Daily Show, David Javerbaum, co-created the series, which is available to stream starting this August.

Chuck Lorre, best known for creating Two and a Half Men and co-creating The Big Bang Theory, is taking on slightly different material than we’d typically expect of him. The TV mogul is behind a new adaptation of Tom Wolfe‘s The Bonfire of the Vanities. Almost 26 years ago, Brian De Palma directed Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis in a disastrous adaptation of Wolfe’s novel. Wolfe’s story isn’t returning to the big screen, but you may be able to stream it one day.
