Gremlins 3 Effects

Fans of Gremlins have been asking for Gremlins 3 for a long time. In fact, it’s been 25 years since Gremlins 2: The New Batch arrived, and it’s about time those little monsters made a comeback. Though there’s an animated series coming to HBO Max, that’s a prequel story, and fans want something new with the same style as the original. The good news is, if Gremlins 3 ever gets made, director Chris Columbus fully intends to do it with practical puppets and not computer generated visual effects. Read More »

home alone reboot

Chris Columbus, who directed the Christmas classics Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has some choice words for where Disney can leave the change, you filthy animal. The Home Alone director is not happy about the Home Alone reboot in the works at Disney+, which is set to star Jojo Rabbit scene-stealer Archie Yates and be directed by Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa). And while he didn’t go as far as to call the House of Mouse a filthy animal, the sentiment is the same.

Five Nights at Freddy's Movie

A film adaptation of the hit video game Five Nights at Freddy’s has been in the works for a few years now. Originally, the project was set up at New Line Cinema with Monster House director Gil Kenan on board, but now a new director is being brought in as the project finds a new home.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is now situated at Blumhouse, which feels like a much better fit for the story of a security guard dealing with animatronic robots who come to life late at night at a place not unlike Chuck E. Cheese. And now Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone director Chris Columbus has been brought in to take the helm.

Speaking with /Film about the festival hit Patti Cake$, which he produced, Columbus said his script asks a question which may have been on fans’ minds since the original: if all the gremlins come from getting Gizmo wet and feeding his mogwai offspring after midnight, should Gizmo be eliminated?
