Jon Favreau is directing a live-action remake of Disney’s animated classic The Lion King, and though we’ve heard about some of the cast members, the D23 Expo brought the official announcement of the entire cast.
The biggest news actually isn’t official yet, and that’s word that X-Men franchise star Hugh Jackman has landed the role of the villain Scar, the brother of the Pride Rock king Mufasa and uncle to the cub prince Simba, but we’re not really sure if that’s true or not. Find out more about The Lion King remake cast below as well as new details about the project. Read More »
While Jordan Peele has a career on the rise thanks to his directorial debut on the stellar thriller Get Out, his partner in comedy continues to build up his acting profile.
Keegan-Michael Key has appeared in countless TV shows and lent his voice to plenty of animated fare, but he’s been taking more prominent roles in front of the camera on the big screen lately. Last year, he starred in the outstanding Don’t Think Twice, and next year he’ll have a key role in The Predator. But before that, he’ll be part of an incredible ensemble in the new Netflix comedy series Friends from College, and the first trailer for the series has just arrived. Read More »
Today, Walt Disney Pictures set release dates for a bunch of their movies coming to theaters over the next couple years, and that included their live-action remake of the modern animated classic The Lion King. Director Jon Favreau is tackling the project after remaking The Jungle Book for Disney last year with Donald Glover taking on the role of Simba and James Earl Jones reprising the role of his father Mufasa, with Beyonce being eyed to play Nala. Now two of the most important characters in the movie have been cast as well.
Undoubtedly the most entertaining characters in The Lion King are the meerkat and warthog duo known as Timon and Pumbaa. The characters were voiced by Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella respectively in the 1994 animated musical, but in the live-action remake, they’ll be voiced by Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner and blockbuster comedy star Seth Rogen.

Billy Eichner is best known for screaming questions at people in public on his web series turned full fledged TV show Billy on the Street. It’s loud and hilarious, but it’s not necessarily appropriate for kids. But you can certainly let them watch this family friendly version of Billy on the Street that takes the comedian to the most famous street in the world: Sesame Street.
It goes without saying that Billy Eichner asks how to get to Sesame Street, but the real goal of this fun video is to find a little kindness and compassion. Oh, and everyone gets a cookie, which kind of drives Cookie Monster a little crazy. Watch Billy on the Sesame Street after the jump. Read More »
Even if you’re not a regular viewer of The Late Late Show on CBS with host James Corden, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of his popular, consistently viral segment known as Carpool Karaoke. In the recurring segment, James Corden hops in a car with a famous celebrity, usually a chart-topping singer but sometimes just another figure in pop culture, and they cruise around Los Angeles jamming out to an assortment of songs in the car, just like you and me. This year, that segment gets its own series.
Carpool Karaoke: The Series will be the first programming endeavor for Apple as they start to expand into original programming. Last night the first trailer debuted in front of the perfect audience during the Grammys, which were hosted by James Corden, and featured a few of the famous faces that he’s shared a ride with before. The trailer shows that Corden won’t be hosting every episode, but there’s quite a cavalcade of talent from across the board to make up for it.

Comedian Billy Eichner is one of those entertainers that you either love or you hate. He’s boisterous, excitable, obnoxious, flamboyant, and I just love him for it. He enjoyed a stint on Parks and Recreation in the comedy show’s later seasons, but he’s probably best known for his show Billy on the Street. What started as a recurring Funny or Die series turned into a full fledged TV show on truTV, and one of the recent segments is one of the most awkwardly funny things you’ll watch today.
In a new episode of Billy on the Street, our loud host is telling people that Seth Rogen has died and asking them for their feelings on the matter. Seems pretty cruel, but what makes it all right is the Sausage Party and Neighbors star is on hand for every bit of it, disguised as one of Billy Eichner’s cameramen who trail him as he breaks the bad news. Like I said, it’s hilarious and weird.
