Netflix giveth and Netflix taketh away. Although the world’s most popular steaming service is losing a bunch of great movies and television shows next month, it’s gaining plenty of stuff worthy of your team and attention in turn. If you like unique and varied documentaries, surreal animated family movies, and Marvel superheroes, you’ll have plenty to dig into over the next few weeks.

It’s rare that we can point to one specific point in time where media really changed; the way we communicate is a flow of evolution rather than a series of specific formative events. But there are some cases where we really can say “it all began here.” One point in time is the set of debates between William F. Buckley, Jr. and Gore Vidal, organized by ABC in 1968 as the network’s coverage of the Republican and Democrat national conventions.
Each man was known and notorious for his own reasons. Each was blessed with dextrous verbal wit. And each hated the other, viciously. Pairing them for televised political debates was genius, and their verbal sparring nearly spilled over into physical combat.

The 2015 Sundance Film Festival ends Sunday but team /Film is already back in Los Angeles. We were on the ground in Park City for eight days, seeing and reviewing as many movies as possible. While there, our aim is to find the awesome films you’ll want to have on your radar later this year. We think we were successful.
Below, Peter Sciretta, Russ Fischer and I have each ranked every single film we saw. I saw 25, Peter and Russ saw 22. We assigned points to our top films to come up with an overall site ranking. We also came up with a bunch of fun stats to to give you an idea of how huge Sundance is, and how our tastes figure into coverage.
