Four Weddings and a Funeral Sequel Cast

Toward the end of last year, we learned that a Four Weddings and a Funeral sequel was being planned as a short film to support the charitable Red Nose Day campaign. Writer Richard Curtis is back to script the sequel, and Mike Newell will be directing again, too. But let’s be honest, it’s the returning cast you’re excited to see after 25 years. And while pretty much everyone from the original movie will be back, there are a couple of new cast members getting in on the fun.

Baby Driver star Lily James and Tomb Raider leading badass Alicia Vikander will have roles in the Four Weddings and a Funeral sequel cast. And if that’s not enough, an official teaser for the short film has arrived online featuring Hugh Grant and Kristin Scott Thomas and the tease of a secret wedding. Read More »

New Images: The ‘Footloose’ Remake

That Footloose remake that no one asked for and everyone keeps forgetting about (okay, maybe that’s just me) is still moving forward, and we have new images to prove it. The updated version stars relative unknown Kenny Wormald as protagonist Ren McCormack and two-time Dancing with the Stars winner Julianne Hough as love interest Ariel Moore — the parts originally played by Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer.

The new photos show, among other things, Hough looking cute in cutoffs, Wormald looking like a slick city boy, and Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell as Ariel’s parents. Check ’em out after the jump.

ashley-greene

I just wrote about Butter the other day — that’s the Black List script by Jason Micallef that is becoming a comedy with satirical overtones starring Rob Corddry and Jennifer Garner. Now Ashley Greene, aka the one reason I’d think about ever wanting to watch any of the Twilight films, is signing on to play “a rebellious high school teenager.” I still love the core idea — an Iowa butter-carving competition is allegory for the 2008 Democratic caucus — and this cast is really shaping up. [THR]

After the break, new work for a Glee cast member and some terribly exciting news about the third Big Momma’s House movie. Actually, the opposite — the only exciting news would be that it isn’t happening. Read More »
