Yellowstone's Jen Landon Says Gender 'Isn't A Thing' When It Comes To Teeter
By DREW TINNIN
Taylor Sheridan's Neo-Western "Yellowstone" is filled with misfit ranch hands doing whatever they can to protect the Dutton’s ranch and the cowboy way of life.
Among the ranchers is the pink-haired Teeter, introduced in Season 3, representing a breed of toughness that isn’t concerned with gender norms or stereotypes.
Sheridan is the sole writer and creates characters from the male perspective, but Teeter’s actress Jen Landon said this writing helped inform her who her tomboyish ranch hand is.
While talking about “how gender isn’t even a thing for her,” the actress praised Sheridan’s writing of the character and felt an immediate connection with Teeter’s attitude.
Landon shared, “There’s a lot of parts of me that, like, there are a lot of similarities between Teeter and I,” adding that she also has “always done dude stuff.”
The actress continued, “I didn’t like that there were dude things to do and chick things to do. It made me feel weird growing up and I didn’t like a lot of the chick stuff.”
