Yellowstone Fans’ Reaction To Rip Caught Cole Hauser Completely Off Guard

Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler is one of the most popular characters in “Yellowstone” and has a dedicated fanbase, despite the Dutton ranch’s foreman having a violent streak.
It surprised the actor to learn how beloved his character is with the fans, a fact that Hauser believes even showrunner Taylor Sheridan didn’t expect to happen.
Hauser shared, “I think it surprised Taylor too. It’s definitely not something that was ever on the table, that we ever discussed. In fact, I think it was quite the opposite.”
He continued, “[Taylor] was like, ‘Oh man, people are gonna think you’re f***ing nuts. I wrote this scene, the way you kill this guy or burn this guy,’ you know what I mean?”
Rip is a pretty level-headed guy and his violent side is usually brought out in an effort to defend his longtime on-and-off love, Kelly Reilly's Beth Dutton.
Regardless of how the character was intended to be perceived, Rip has won over fans as easily one of the dreamiest young men to grace the Paramount series.
