Why The Crow’s Original Director Isn’t Happy With The Remake
By RYAN SCOTT
The remake of “The Crow” is finally coming to theaters this summer. However, not everyone is happy with this news, such as Alex Proyas, the director of the 1994 version.
On Facebook, Proyas wrote, “[‘The Crow’] is not just a movie. Brandon Lee died making it, and it was finished as a testament to his lost brilliance and tragic loss.”
Lee died at the very end of production on 1994’s “The Crow” after being fatally shot by a prop gun. Despite the tragedy, “The Crow” became a massive success when released.
The director added, “It is his [Lee’s] legacy. That’s how it should remain.” Despite his objections, Proyas believes that “the cast and crew really had all good intentions.”
