Why Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Had Billy Dee Williams Worried
By JEREMY SMITH
It’s hard to dislike Billy Dee Williams reprising his role as Lando Calrissian for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” 36 years after the character’s last appearance in the series.
While the actor did a fantastic job in the role, Williams was initially concerned he possessed the fire necessary to do the beloved character justice one last time.
In a 2019 chat with Esquire, Williams candidly talked of his self-doubts portraying Lando as an octogenarian. He asked himself if he still had the same hunger and excitement.
He added, “When you get to be a certain age, whether you want to think about mortality or not, you think about it.” Despite his doubts, Williams returned as Lando.
