In an interview with IGN, lead actress Emily Deschanel shared that one of the assistant directors, Maggie Parker, had to ask the cast to stop singing showtunes between takes.
Deschanel’s co-star, David Boreanaz, added, "I mean, we are always having fun and dancing and imitating people's quotes from films or whatever."
Deschanel remembered how she would stop filming for extended periods so she could sing numbers from one of her favorite Broadway shows, "Annie."
Deschanel detailed how Parker pulled them aside to talk about the singing, "She's like, 'I love it when you sing. We love it. It's just I think some people don't ... '"
