Why Josh Brolin Didn't Return As Cable In Deadpool & Wolverine
By JOE ROBERTS
"Deadpool & Wolverine" is filled with cameo characters from various 20th Century Fox Marvel films; however, Josh Brolin's Cable from "Deadpool 2" is oddly absent.
Co-writer Paul Wernick told IndieWire that Cable's absence had to do with their wanting to focus more on particular Fox Marvel heroes to give them a send-off.
Wernick said, "Creatively, we wanted to tap into this idea of people or characters who didn't get their proper ending at Fox to pay tribute to them, to give them a legacy."
While Cable was considered for a send-off cameo, Wernick added, "He's still a character that, my guess is, will appear in the Fox-Marvel mash-up universe at some point."
Luckily, Brolin would likely return. He told Bingeworthy he wanted to be in the film, saying, "Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun."
