Why David Tennant Was 'Worried' About That Doctor Who Regeneration Twist
By MICHAEL BOYLE
"Doctor Who" takes itself in bold, unexpected directions, but the ending to Jodie Whittaker’s final episode, “The Power of the Doctor,” might be their most ambitious one yet. David Tennant has once again returned, temporarily, making him both the Tenth and the Fourteenth Doctor.
For David Tennant, there’s a lot he was worried about, fearing he’d struggle with playing the Doctor again. Sure, Doctors have occasionally popped up for special episodes in the past, but this is a first for the show, and taking over completely is a whole other situation.
All things considered, Tennant seems overjoyed and grateful about the experience so far, with the return to his role having been "weirdly straightforward." The actor hasn’t aged much since 2010, which doesn’t hurt, and his portrayal hasn't changed a bit.
