Why Andy Serkis Isn’t In The Cast Of Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes

Although actors returning to “The Planet of the Apes” franchise in different roles isn’t uncommon, Andy Serkis won’t be in “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.”
Director Wes Ball shared with Empire magazine, “We talked about it, for sure. [...] I entertained that thought for a long time, because I thought it would be f***ing cool.”
He continued, “He’s just too iconic, in a way. So we decided it’s probably best to think about future movies where maybe he can come in.”
While the actor isn’t returning for “Kingdom,” leading star Owen Teague said that Serkis offered his thoughts and advice on playing the new character Noa.
