While audiences learn that Captain Shaw was present at the devastating Battle at Wolf 359, he isn’t the only Starfleet captain in the franchise who experienced its horrors.

Captain Benjamin Sisko and his wife Jennifer were involved in the battle, though only he survived, leading to a grudge against Picard for his role in the attack.

While the assimilated Picard, known as Locutus of Borg, led the attack against the Federation, Sisko served as a First Officer aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga during the battle.

The pilot for “Deep Space Nine” shows the battle through Sisko’s perspective aboard the Saratoga and what the future captain lost at the hands of the Borg.
