What Luke’s Gift To Leia Really Meant In Star Wars: The Last Jedi
By ANTHONY CRISLIP
In "Star Wars: Episode VIII—The Last Jedi," Luke Skywalker goes to a resistance base. Luke gives a gift to their leader and his sister, Leia, that goes unexplained.
The gift Luke brings is a set of gold-plated dice with unique symbols engraved on them. This and Luke's line to his sister, "No one's ever really gone," shine particularly bright.
The dice were Han Solo’s decades before, a decoration hanging on the ceiling of his ship, the Millennium Falcon. Luke gave them to Leia as a tribute to the love of her life, Han.
"The Last Jedi" is the first main entry besides the prequels without Han Solo, and the absence was felt. Luke's delivery of the iconic dice serves as a memorial for the character.
