Timothée Chalamet Learned A Skill For Dune He Hopes He Never Has To Use
By DANIELLE RYAN
Actors have to learn various skills to play specific roles, such as Timothée Chalamet having to learn hand-to-hand combat and sword-fighting for “Dune” and its sequel.
However, in an interview with USA Today, Chalamet said he hopes he never has to replicate sand walking, the way of traveling the desert without attracting gigantic worms.
Developed by choreographer Benjamin Millepied, the “sand walk” was described in the Fatboy Slim song “Weapon of Choice” as walking “without rhyme so you don’t attract the worm.”
Although the fight choreographer in “Dune” and “Dune: Part Two” were elaborate, Chalamet revealed that sand-walking was “one of the more challenging parts of the role.”
The actor continued, “I hope I won’t have to use it in real life. I don’t know what situation would require it, but I’ve got it in my toolbox of skills.”
