The Twilight Zone's Second Episode Starred A Bona Fide Disney Legend
By BEN PEARSON
Ed Wynn, a renowned performer with a rich history in stage, film, and television, starred as a pitchman in the second episode of "The Twilight Zone," titled "One For The Angels."
Disney fans watching the show would have promptly recognized Wynn's distinctive voice from his portrayal of the Mad Hatter in Disney's 1951 animated classic, "Alice in Wonderland."
Walt Disney himself regarded Wynn as a good luck charm, leading to multiple collaborations, including his memorable performance as Uncle Albert in the 1964 classic "Mary Poppins."
Wynn's extensive work with Disney also included roles in "The Absent-Minded Professor," "Son of Flubber," "That Darn Cat!," "Those Callaways," and "The Gnome-Mobile."
His contributions to Disney were so significant that he was posthumously honored as a Disney Legend in 2013, joining other luminaries like Eyvind Earle, Jim Henson, and Ub Iwerks.
