The Star Wars Dream Project Carl Weathers Sadly Never Got To Direct
By JEREMY MATHAI
Carl Weathers, who starred in “The Mandalorian,” passed away at 76 before accomplishing one of his dreams: to direct and star in his own Greef Karga spin-off film.
While talking to Hypebeast in 2023, Weathers shared, “I would love to direct a movie that centers around Greef Karga, covering his journey as High Magistrate of Nevarro.”
The actor and director of several “Mandalorian” episodes continued, “I love the issues of the pirates, Empire, resurgences, Moff Gideon — there’s so much good stuff in there.”
Weathers described his ideal arc for the story, following the character in his younger years and “watching him learn both bad habits and good ones” to become the man he is.
