Top Hat (1935)
Talented dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers’ most critically acclaimed film is "Top Hat," a charming, silly romp featuring original music by Irving Berlin.
The film stars Astaire as a tap dancer named Jerry who heads to London and falls in love with Dale (Rogers.) Throughout it all, a case of mistaken identity causes amusing issues.
The iconic musical "Singin' in the Rain" takes place in 1920s Hollywood, where "talkies" are on the rise, much to the chagrin of the film's fictional stars.
Gene Kelly stars as Don Lockwood, who struggles to switch to making talkies alongside his partner Lina Lamont. It has classic songs and incredible dance sequences.
Garland shines as a young girl in love with the Smith family's neighbor John Truett (Tom Drake.) The journey itself is a complete delight, and the tunes are very catchy.
