The Real Reason Leonard Nimoy's Spock Wasn't In Star Trek Generations
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
Originally, the entire original "Star Trek" cast was invited to be present in “Star Trek: Generations.” However, that plan changed after most of the cast received the script.
Leonard Nimoy shared in a 2007 interview with TrekMovie that his co-stars felt there wasn’t enough for them to do. When he read the script, he more or less told them to go to hell.
Nimoy recounted how he told executive producer Rick Berman, “You could distribute these lines to any one of the other characters and it wouldn't make any difference.”
To play tenth-fiddle felt like an insult. “It was just sort of 'Lets get Nimoy in here too.' I said there is nothing here I can do so I said 'Thanks, but I'll pass,'" Nimoy shared.
