When Conan O’Brien left “Saturday Night Live,” he was offered a job writing for “The Simpsons.” The comedian served as producer for 48 episodes and was credited as writer for four.
Talking to Buzzfeed, O’Brien said the writers’ room was sweaty, cramped and intense. He described brain-melting 12-hour shifts where teams of people tried to be funny.
When asked if he wished he had stayed, O’Brien answered, “God, no.” After three years, fellow writer John Swartzwelder said O’Brien was too talented to stay on “The Simpsons.”
O'Brien said he cherished his time at “The Simpsons,” but also that if he had stayed, “I probably would have jumped out of the window, because I was too hyperactive.”
