The Power Rangers-Inspired Movie That Will Be Jason David Frank's Last Project
By CHRISTIAN GAINEY
Jason David Frank rose to fame as fan-favorite Tommy Oliver in “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” and reprised his role countless times in many spinoff projects. Although fans will never see Frank play Oliver again, the actor has one final upcoming project that was heavily influenced by “Power Rangers” titled “Legend of the White Dragon.”
The Bat in the Sun Productions project, funded through Kickstarter, follows Erik Reed (Frank), the city’s former protector and a now-wanted man who must regain his powers after an epic battle. There’s no mention of Power Rangers’ influence on the film on the Kickstarter page, but one look at the familiar metallic armor and casting choices says it all.
When news of the actor's death broke, many fans began tweeting Bat of The Sun Productions, concerned about the status of the film. They responded on the film's official Twitter account, stating that "those questions will be answered at a later date."
