The Only Surviving Stars Of The Original Superman Movie
By CAROLINE MADDEN
"Superman," directed by Richard Donner in 1978 with a star-studded cast and a $55 million budget, leaves us with a few surviving cast members.
Sadly, many of the actors who played significant roles including Marlon Brando, Margot Kidder, and Superman himself, Christopher Reeve, have all passed since the film's release.
One surviving cast member is Academy Award-winning actor Gene Hackman, who played Lex Luthor in "Superman." Hackman has been retired since his last film in 2004.
Terence Stamp, the fearsome General Zod, is the only other actor still gracing fans. Stamp continued to appear in film and television, often in similar intense and dramatic roles.
