The Only Stars Still Alive From The First Planet Of The Apes

Co-written by Rod Serling of "The Twilight Zone" and directed by Franklin J. Schaffner, 1968's "Planet of the Apes" is one of the most legendary sci-fi movies in cinematic history.
Unfortunately, when a film is more than 50 years old, not many people from the cast are going to be around any longer. Luckily, a couple of key cast members are still alive today.
Linda Harrison, who played Nova in the original "Planet of the Apes" as well as the sequel "Beneath the Planet of the Apes," is still alive and well at the age of 78 years old.
Harrison later made a career during the '80s, while acting sporadically in movies and TV shows in the '90s and beyond. She even had a cameo in the 2001 film "Planet of the Apes."
As a key part of the original film, Lou Wagner, who played the ape Lucius in "Planet of the Apes," is also still alive and still working as a writer at age 75.
Wagner has maintained a career in movies and television, spanning more than five decades, and even made a cameo as a busboy in 1972's "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes."
