The Only Perfect Daniel Day-Lewis Movie According To Rotten Tomatoes

Daniel Day-Lewis is considered one of the greatest actors of his generation, but surprisingly only one of his films has a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.
It's not “Gangs of New York,” “My Left Foot,” or even “In the Name of the Father,” but 1985's “A Room With a View,” directed by James Ivory.
Day-Lewis is terrific in the period romance as the wonderfully named Cecil Vyse, a wealthy man who is extremely snobbish and his pompous attitude gives the film much of its humor.
The movie deserves all of its critical acclaim, but since its release in 1985 — before the invention of the Internet — its 100 % score is aggregated from only 35 reviews.
Most of its reviews were published in the 2000s, retrospectives of the movie, making its Tomatometer number comparisons to more modern films complicated.
Paul Thomas Anderson's “There Will Be Blood” is seen by many critics as Day-Lewis’ best performance, but because it’s aggregated from 246 reviews, its rating is 91%.
100% on 35 reviews vs 91% on 246 reviews is proof that Rotten Tomatoes' fresh rating shouldn’t be the end-all, be-all answer of whether or not a film is worth watching.
