The One Change Star Wars’ Original Boba Fett Actor Would Make To His Armor
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
The documentary "Under the Helmet" has early test footage of the Super Trooper armor in "The Empire Strikes Back." Initially, it was meant to be flat white.
It wasn't in the budget to make 100 Super Trooper suits, so the prototype suit was painted maroon and olive and given to the bounty hunter character Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch).
In a 2017 interview with StarWars.com, Bulloch noted that the helmet was hard to see out of and that wearing it, naturally, made turning his head difficult.
Additionally, the body armor is segments of hard plastic affixed to a baggy canvas bodysuit. Bullock said if the pieces weren't properly fitted, he'd have thigh trauma.
Bulloch said he couldn't see well through the helmet's T-shaped visor. "You just have to get on with it. And it was tough [...] but not for me because I'm Boba Fett."
The costume may have looked cool, but Bulloch said, "If I had the chance, I'd re-make the knees and the legs, [...] it was cutting into your thighs and your knees."
