The Nightmare Before Christmas Hit A Major Milestone 30 Years After Release
By RYAN SCOTT
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Disney re-released "The Nightmare Before Christmas" in theaters, where it has since passed a new major box office milestone.
As of November 9, 2023, the re-release has earned $9.8 million domestically, per Box Office Mojo. That includes $889,000 just from the first weekend in November.
With that, the movie has accumulated $87.2 million domestically and $13.8 million internationally, for a grand total that stands at $101 million worldwide as of November 9, 2023.
The fact that the movie has made more than half of its box office total after its original run in theaters is at the very least unique and, beyond that, rather extraordinary.
