The MCU's Take On MODOK Has Been Revealed (in Funko POP Form)
By JEREMY MATHAI
“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is set to officially introduce Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror as Marvel’s next major threat, but the film also showcases another villain: MODOK. While there isn’t much information on the live-action version of the character, fans may have an idea of what the supervillain will look like, thanks to Funko POP!
A GameStop listing for the character’s Funko POP! collectible is based on his “Quantumania” debut and reveals MCU’s design for MODOK. The only real exposure the classic comic book character has had in recent years is from Hulu’s animated series “M.O.D.O.K.” and the heavily modernized version from the video game “Marvel’s Avengers.”
The MODOK Funko POP! features the villain floating in his infamous Doomsday Chair, making it a perfect gift for any comic enthusiast this holiday season. The official trailer for “Quantumania” doesn’t feature any sign of the fan-favorite criminal, but keep on the lookout for his eventual reveal as the film’s release date — February 17, 2023 — draws closer.
