The MCU Role Taron Egerton Hopes He Gets To Play
By JEREMY MATHAI
Taron Egerton is the top choice of many MCU fans to play Wolverine when the character is rebooted. While many fan-casts don’t work out due to the conflicts with the actor’s schedule or factors like age, Egerton actually fed the flames when he told the New York Times that he had personally met up with Kevin Feige and other Marvel executives.
When asked if he’d like to play Wolverine, Egerton laughed and responded, “I don't think it would be wrong to say that. I'd be excited but I'd be apprehensive as well, because Hugh [Jackman] is so associated with the role that I'd wonder if it'd be very difficult for someone else to do it.” However, if the reboot happens, he hopes “they'll give me a shot.”
As Egerton’s wording doesn’t reveal if he met Feige to discuss Wolverine or some other MCU character, fans will have to wait and see if anything comes to fruition. However, as Egerton will finish the other franchise he leads when “Kingsman 3” wraps up, his schedule may become free to lead another blockbuster franchise.
