The Last Of Us Creators Made A Pact To Get Matching Tattoos If The Show Was
A Hit
By JOSHUA MEYER
When cast and crew commit themselves to the adaptation of a beloved book, comic, or video game, they sometimes choose to get matching tattoos as a sign of the bond they share in their dedication to the material. The cast of "The Lord of the Rings" did it, as well as the cast of the first "Suicide Squad," and now "The Last of Us" creators may join the list.
During the show’s official podcast, host Troy Baker said that he already has two "Last of Us" tattoos, whereupon Craig Mazin revealed that he and fellow showrunner Neil Druckmann have their own pact to get inked. "Neil and I made a deal early on in prep, and the deal was if the show does well, and we sort of loosely defined 'does well,' then he and I will both get a tattoo of Ellie's switchblade."
There's no end to the buzz surrounding the show, considering it's one of the best-reviewed video game adaptations ever. In fact, it was HBO's second-biggest premiere in the past decade, attracting more than 10 million viewers in its first two days — so it’s safe to say it’s now put-up-or-shut-up time for Mazin and Druckmann to get those switchblade tattoos.
