The John Candy Easter Egg In Deadpool & Wolverine, Explained

A fan of John Candy, Ryan Reynolds tributes him in “Deadpool & Wolverine” with two literal and spiritual easter eggs of the late actor’s “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” film.
In the movie, Deadpool and Wolverine are in The Void. After they exit Cassandra Nova's lair, you can see the wrecked and burnt car from "Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”
Later in the film, Wolverine goes off at Deadpool and calls him a joke, similar to the way Neal (Steve Martin) told off Del (John Candy) in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”
