The Intense Training Jameela Jamil Had To Do For
She-Hulk
By JENNA BUSCH
Jameela Jamil performed many of her own stunts for her new Disney+ series "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" and that required some extensive training. In a recent interview, Jamil's longtime trainer Al Jackson spoke about the ways he helped her through her health challenges so she could be the badass Marvel character who loves posting on Instagram and wearing very shiny outfits.
Jackson used cheesy, feel-good music to motivate Jamil because they both enjoy the groove. In addition to being able to do stunts, Jackson’s goal for Jamil was to "appear and feel confident, physically comfortable, and athletically capable as Titania." Jackson also talked about the feel-good effect of working out, and the mental health benefits of exercise are often underrated.
That said, the workouts were no joke, as Jamil had to start with full-body stretches, then supersets, which are alternating sets of different exercises and no rest between each. Luckily, Jamil found some exercises that she liked, preferring pad work kicks and punches, which is a must-have skill for super-crime.
