The Gilligan's Island Easter Egg In Adam West's Batman Series
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
The 1966 "Batman" TV series featured many cameos, including actors from other shows playing their characters, such as Ted Cassidy's Lurch from "The Addams Family."
While the show no longer used these peek-in types of cameos in later seasons, "Batman" still included guest stars, like Alan Hale from "Gilligan's Island."
Hale plays a jolly diner owner named Gilligan in "The Ogg and I" episode, a funny nod to "Gilligan's Island," which had been off the air for seven months.
The makers of "Batman" knew audiences everywhere would recognize Hale as the Skipper on "Gilligan's Island," making his naming choice and being repeatedly Gilligan hilarious.
