The Frasier Revival Hints At A Classic Character’s Return
By JOE ROBERTS
The "Frasier" reboot has been neither disappointing nor remarkable, but it does continue to suffer due to its lack of the original supporting cast, like David Hyde Pierce as Niles.
Given its casting concerns, the new show has hinted at the return of Bebe Neuwirth's character, Dr. Lilith Sternin, who is Frasier’s ex-wife and mother to their son, Freddy.
Her return is subtly teased when, in the midst of a trivia game, Frasier playfully responds to an unheard question with, "My ex-wife Lilith! I'm sorry, I mean the Arctic Circle."
The line sounds as if Lilith will maintain her ice queen status. Per EW, the description for the episode in which she returns mentions "a Lilith-and-Frasier showdown for the ages."
Lilith’s return will either help elevate the new show or serve as yet one more reminder that things aren't what they once were without the original cast and crew.
