The Five Nights At Freddy's Movie Might Be 'Deeper' Than Anyone Thought

The upcoming “Five Nights at Freddy’s” film from director Emma Tammi is based on the horror video game franchise of the same name, and is set to expand upon the series’ characters.
While the core gameplay is pretty simple, with the singular player character surviving attacks from animatronic mascots, the recent trailer reveals there’s more at stake.
The story follows Mike Schmidt, the night security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. However, it appears his sister Abby is also at the pizzeria.
This aspect already deepens the film’s premise, as it subverts the protagonist-only perspective of “FNAF” gameplay and employs the game’s lore for deeper emotional impact.
Tammi’s friend and collaborator, Teresa Sutherland, shared, “[What] Emma will bring to Freddy’s is just the story that you want, like a very human story will be in that movie.”
She added, “I know that there’s going to be style there. There’s going to be something that is just deeper than what you might think for this kind of adaptation.”
