The first idea for "Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire" was the wild and exhilarating zero gravity fight scene, which director Adam Wingard conceptualized at the movie's inception.
This ambitious scene, featuring Godzilla and Kong in a dizzying, anti-gravity battle against the villainous Skar King and other creatures, highlights the film's playful tone.
The behind-the-scenes featurette that comes with the home media release reveals that this concept was the first idea Wingard proposed and one of the most challenging to execute.
Wingard confesses that he saw this anti-gravity fight scene as an opportunity to "do some Showa-era crazy stuff and for Kong to do some wild things you've never seen before."
