The Dark Knight Has
An Animated Batman Movie Prequel You Never Knew Existed
By DEVIN MEENAN
Every Batman fan knows about Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" Trilogy, but very few know about the franchise's tie-in animated feature released in 2008: "Batman: Gotham Knight."
Set between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight, the feature is an anthology of six shorts, each one with a different director and writer, which lead into each other.
Neither cast members from Nolan's franchise nor Nolan himself are involved in the movie, but his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas is an executive producer on "Gotham Knight."
However, "Dark Knight" trilogy screenwriter David S. Goyer has written segments of it. Plus, the film also uses characters and plot beats from the trilogy's first two movies.
