The Clone Wars’ Creator Used to Tease Ashley Eckstein About Ahsoka’s Death
By RAFAEL MOTAMAYOR
The immensely popular “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” TV show explored a mostly uncharted era in the franchise’s lore and introduced one of the most beloved characters — Ahsoka Tano.
While her popularity would continue to grow, creator Dave Filoni actually planned to kill off Ahsoka, as her voice actress Ashley Eckstein would later explain.
Eckstein shared, “[Dave Filoni] would always tell me theories of how Ahsoka would die.” Even fans would question the actress when and how her character would bite the dust.
Since she isn’t in “Revenge of the Sith,” many assumed that Ahsoka was killed at some point, with the list of possible perpetrators including Ventress and Darth Vader himself.
However, Ahsoka continued to grow vital to the franchise as a whole, with Eckstein sharing, “At some point, the tide turned, and no one asked me how Ahsoka was going to die.”
Filoni decided Ahsoka would live, and while she would not succeed in changing the story’s outcome, she came back into the timeline following the original trilogy.
