The Burt Reynolds Movie With A Brutal Zero Percent On Rotten Tomatoes
By BILL BRIA
"Universal Soldier II: Brothers in Arms," a film starring Burt Reynolds and former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Matt Battaglia, earned a brutal zero percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
It was shot alongside "Universal Soldier III: Unfinished Business" as part of an abandoned attempt to create a syndicated series and was ultimately dumped on The Movie Channel.
In this direct-to-cable film, Reynolds played a shady CIA Deputy Director, a role he took due to his connection with Battaglia, whose father played college football with Reynolds.
The sequel picks up from the 1992 "Universal Soldier" starring Jean-Claude Van Damme but lacks the quality of its predecessor and was panned for its uninspired, dull execution.
