The Boys Superpowers That Don't Make Any Sense

Homelander
Despite being the world's strongest man, Homelander (Antony Starr) is crippled by insecurity and has a warped sense of morality. While he has the strongest skin on the planet and can break the sound barrier without damaging his ears, inconsistencies arise with his powers, such as his super hearing being used only when it's convenient for the plot.
Billy Butcher
Temp V gives Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) superpowers for the next 24 hours, including the ability to shoot destructive beams from his eyes. Creator Eric Kripke describes it as a self-punishing power, as the beams burn Butcher's eyes, which leads to the question of what will happen to his vision once the effects of the substance wear off.
Soldier Boy
Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) has super strength and endurance, and can produce a nuclear blast from his chest that can remove other heroes' powers. However, it raises the question of why the energy blasts don't take away his powers, especially since he isn't invincible and appears to suffer pain from building up a charge.
Acid Vomit Patient
At a secret facility called Sage Grove, a young man known as the Acid Vomit Patient (Nick Alachiotis) pukes up a corrosive substance that dissolves anything it touches. However, he isn't immune to the destruction himself and ultimately dies because of it, which raises the question of why the acid doesn't burn him internally.
Kimiko
After receiving experimental doses of Compound V as an adult, Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) develops her own mighty abilities, including super strength and speed, and can recover from almost any wound. However, it prompts the question of whether Kimiko's regenerative powers have any limitations or if she
possesses immortality.
