The Bones Storylines That Still Make Emily Deschanel Uncomfortable
By SANDY SCHAEFER
The media landscape can change over time in response to the real world. One show that experienced this change was “Bones,” which began in 2005 and ended in 2017.
When creator Hart Hanson started the show, the 9/11 terrorist attack was still fresh in many people’s minds. This led to storylines that bother star Emily Deschanel to this day.
Speaking with TV Insider about her podcast “Boneheads with Emily Deschanel and Carla Gallo (A Bones Rewatch Podcast),” Deschanel admitted some episodes are difficult to watch.
The actress shared, “When episodes would deal with terrorism in a way and in a way that, looking back, I don’t love, and I’m not sure how I felt about at the time.”
Deschanel said she may have been “uncomfortable” with the storylines and pointed out the difficulty of discovering problematic elements in something you worked so hard on.
